Putting Your Heart on Paper: Coaching

Get that self-help book out of your head and down on paper, where it belongs!

Many of us feel called to help humanity through our writing. Some of us even know specifically what the angels and God want us to write about. But sometimes it can be dramatically difficult to bridge the gap between what we know we want to convey and actually conveying the information.

Putting Your Heart on Paper coaching lovingly leads authors through the self-help book-writing process, addressing issues such as overcoming procrastination, writing about unresolved issues and sticky situations, how to organize a self-help book, dealing with imposter syndrome, and much, much more. Coach Wendy Gabriel employs meditation and visualization techniques as part of the coaching sessions, as well as ANGEL THERAPY® techniques to help eliminate blocks.

Putting Your Heart on Paper coaching sessions occur once a week for six weeks, with Wendy available for feedback and encouragement between sessions. It's Wendy's intention that authors use this time to throw themselves into the book-writing process and develop a first draft of their book during this time.  Wendy can meet with authors in the Southern Wisconsin area in person. She also has telephone coaching clients around the world.

This is a hold-onto-your-hat, fast-track course of coaching sessions for writers who are serious about getting off the hamster wheel of procrastination and moving on with their Divine missions! Even if you have NO idea what you’re supposed to write about, if you feel guided to get down to business and write a book, jump in and see where this experience carries you.

Most publishing projects start here. Whether you're writing a self-help book, a memoir, or the next great American novel, every book needs a thorough inspection to work out the "bugs." Sure, you've given your book to your partner, your mother, and your best friend—they all say your book is great! But let's face it: they have a vested interest in supporting you. At Malachite Press, our manuscript reviews are done by unbiased, highly trained literary experts who will pick apart your book in ways you never thought possible.

With fiction, we do a line-by-line analysis of the story and character development, pointing out inconsistencies and unanswered questions.
For non-fiction, we pore over your work, analysing argument, thesis development, and again, pointing out inconsistencies and unanswered questions.

For both fiction and non-fiction, we do a complete first edit, clearing up wordy writing and muddy phrases, checking facts where appropriate, and correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes that spell check and grammar check programs fail to catch. All work is done according to the Chicago Manual of Style, the accepted standard in the publishing industry.

Each manuscript review includes a written analysis with numbered comments, an edited manuscript, and a face-to-face or telephone conference, where the manuscript reviewer goes over each and every comment with the author and gives specific comments on the author's writing style and how it can improve.

It's never fun to have someone pick apart your writing, but Malachite Press' professionals are kind, gentle, and infinitely supportive. And yeah, once you've heard out comments you'll probably want to do one last major rewrite.  But those who've gone through the process say it's well worth the time and effort to produce the best book possible!
